Fed is best. You've heard it. But what does that actually look like in real life — especially when your body, your baby, and your schedule all have different opinions?
Here's the honest truth about all three paths:
Breastfeeding is beautiful and hard in equal measure. Latching takes practice (for both of you), supply can be unpredictable, and cluster feeding at 3 AM is a rite of passage. But for many mamas, it becomes one of the most bonding experiences of their lives. Give yourself at least 4–6 weeks before deciding it's not for you.
Bottle feeding — whether formula or pumped milk — gives you flexibility and lets partners and family share the load. It also means you can actually see how much your baby is eating, which is a game-changer for anxious new parents. There's zero shame in this path. Zero.
Combo feeding is the secret option nobody talks about enough. Breast when you can, bottle when you need to. It's not "giving up" — it's being resourceful. Many mamas find this the most sustainable long-term approach.
Whatever you choose, your baby is lucky to have a mama who cares this much. That's what matters most. 🍼🤍
